rocky mountains canada photo Tour
29 may - 5 june 2026, 8 days/ 7 nights

The Canadian Rocky Mountains area is a designated UNESCO World Heritage site. This area offers a rich and diverse landscape including mountains, waterfalls, glacier fed lakes and abundant wildlife: grizzly and black bears, moose, elk, bald eagles, mountain goats and much more.

May/June is springtime in the Rockies, you can expect to shoot in conditions ranging from around 0 degrees C to +15C during the day. Early mornings can feel quite cold!

This amazing itinerary includes stunning national parks in both Alberta and British Columbia: Banff, Kootenay, Yoho and Jasper. Our expert local professional guide Dani Lefrancois (@danibanff ) will be evaluating weather conditions daily and taking us to the best shooting locations to suit, so our exact itinerary is flexible. Some of our options are: Lake Minnewanka, Two Jack, Numa Falls, Bow Lake, Jasper Lake, Emerald Lake, Vermillion Lakes, Maligne Lake, Peyto Lake, Moraine Lake, Natural Bridge, Sunwapta and Athabasca Falls and more.

Starting and ending in Calgary Alberta, we will visit 4 national parks over the week and we include one special night at the beautiful and historic Emerald Lake Lodge where we can enjoy incredible reflections and mountain/ lake scenery. Joining us on tour is professional Canadian photo guide Dani Lefrancois, known on social media as @danibanff . Dani has many years experience guiding in and photographing the Canadian Rockies and is the perfect addition to our group. This is a 100% female run and led photo tour. We are always here to be supportive, inclusive and encouraging. If you want to learn, we are there for you. If you want to be left alone to create your own masterpieces, we can leave you alone too. We don’t always go out for sunrise and sunset, but take advantage of weather conditions daily to look for wildlife such as grizzly and black bear, bald headed eagles and other birds, elk, moose and deer.

Since this tour includes private single accommodation each night, and a maximum of 4 guests, there’s no better way to explore this majestic and breathtaking landscape.

The Rockies are full of wildlife: grizzly and black bears awakening from their winter hibernation, bald eagles with chicks in the nest, moose, elk, deer, bighorn sheep, ground squirrels… you ever know what you will see while on the road. We are always ready to stop and take photos of wildlife!

This is a photo tour and is not a formal workshop, however Wanda and Dani are available to assist with tips and tricks, help you set up and understand the best compositions, and guide you in the use of your own filters. A mountainous landscape and abundant wildlife means that a telephoto lens can come in very handy as well, not only a wide angle with tripod.
