namibia Landscape Photo Tour
26 September - 8 october 2027, 13 Day/12 night
Namibia in Africa is a landscape photographer’s paradise!
Offering bold colours, the clearest and darkest skies in the world, giant red sand dunes and sweeping ocean landscapes, there is always something unique to photograph. Striking red panoramas, tiny desert-dwelling geckos and other unique creatures, quiver trees, and random wildlife will be a feast for your eyes. Visiting the eerie diamond mining ghost town of Kolmanskop, we photograph houses filled with sand.
Along the journey, we spend 3 nights in a luxury tented chalet that gives us the closest access to Deadvlei (stick trees on a salt clay pan), and plan to shoot astrophotography scenes when possible. We will also stay on the Atlantic coastline in Swakopmund where the morning fog/mist rolls in over the jetty.
The population of this country (the land size is similar to New South Wales) is only around 3 million, making it one of the world’s least populated countries. This tour date has been planned meticulously to coincide with the tail end of peak/high tourist season, and the best for night skies.
Starting and ending in Windhoek Namibia, join Wanda Craswell and a local professional photo guide/driver for 13 days of spectacular photographic opportunities in this amazing African country. This tour offers the expertise and guidance of 2 professional photo guides for a minimum of 4, maximum of 6 guests. We will be travelling in a 7-seat Toyota Landcruiser comfortably between locations.
Highlights will include:
Photographing unique quiver trees under a stunning night sky
2 visits to the eerie historical diamond mining ghost town of Kolmanskop (sand in the houses)
3 nights in a luxury tented chalet inside the gates at Namib-Naukluft Park
ALL meals and basic drinks
Tipping is all included in tour price, no need for your to navigate this!
Visiting Deadvlei, stick trees in a clay salt pan with giant red sand dunes as a background, Big Daddy, Sossusvlei
Macro photography opportunities while discovering tiny desert creatures
Astro photography when possible
Sandwich Harbour towering sand dunes that meet the ocean for sunset
Optional add-ons to explore aerial photography from a doors-off helicopter, and to do a hot air balloon flight over the desert
